MAPC2MAPC

MAPC2MAPC is a program to manipulate digital maps: -     - Load map images and calibrate them     - Load calibrations in many different formats and Datums     - View the calibrated map     - Crop and rescale maps whilst preserving the calibration     - Reproject maps to 'Plate Carre' (Equirectangular)     - Rotate maps to true North     - Fit maps to other projections and polynomial fit     - Read and Write Garmin Custom Maps (KMZ) and Write Trekbuddy Tiles     - Read MrSID .sid and .jp2 files     - Merge, join or overlay maps regardless of the scale or projection     - Write several calibration formats     - Write Mobile Atlas tile sets for Andnav,  Maverick and OSMtracker Will read and write  MAP (Ozi), JPR (Memory-map, Fugawi), GMI (GPSTuner),  MCD (GPSMAPOS, GPSGO), CAL (Pathaway), TFW (Mapyx/Quo), KML, KMZ. Will also read GUX (GPSU) and IMP(CompeGPS). Will invoke MrSIDDecode to decode MrSID files, Will handle different input datums but writes WGS84.  There is a description of things it can do here and more technical information in the readme file. Download it here. Unpack the Zip file and run the setup.exe  Latest version is 2.5.8(17 August 2010). The package contains a full set of datums from GPSU (www.gpsu.co.uk) The software is provided 'as is' without warranty. It is free to download and use for personal or commercial purposes. The program runs under Windows XP, Vista and 7 (Administrator mode may be needed to install on Vista and 7) and is reported to run well in WINE. Note that this program only converts calibration files that are held alongside image files - it will not convert maps in a proprietory format such as Memory-map's .qct files : but OziMapTrans may do what you want. XF2TRL

XF2TRL is a program that converts Maptech RXF (route) and TXF (track) files to the TRL files used by GPSGO and GPSMAPOS. And converts the the TRL files back to TXF. The RXF and TXF files are a common interchange format - but if you can't handle them directly then download a copy of GPSU which will convert almost all formats. XF2TRL writes the output file with the same name and in the same directory as the input (so 'abc.txf' creates 'abc.trl'). If the location of the data is in the UK then the files are in GPSMAPOS format, otherwise in GPSGO format. Download it here. Please provide feedback in the Craporola Forums Verision 1.02 fixes problems if the locale uses the comma(,) as a decimal separator. Version 1.03 (March 2009) also converts PTS (points) files to and from MXF (maptech marks).
